Taking Massage to a Whole New Level at Sandals Grande Riviera

One of the first things I do when I go away is reserve a massage. I feel that it’s a necessity after getting up in the middle of the night to get to the airport. We all deserve to relax. One of newest ways to unwind is to have an overwater massage at Sandals Grande Riviera. The breeze, the lapping waves......aahh.

Weekend at Sandals Royal Bahamian

I was recently invited to spend the weekend at Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, Bahamas for Sandals Weddingmoon training. We were treated to a rehearsal dinner, a reception dinner and their incredible wedding cake. We also watched an actual ceremony and saw all of the Martha Stewart theme tables.....I would have a hard time choosing one....although the Seaside Serenade always catches my eye.

Sandals Whitehouse Visit

As we approach the landing pad behind Sandals Whitehouse I look down and see the wide bright smiles that make me feel welcome even though we haven’t landed yet. The cold towels and champagne tell us that we’ve arrived. I love this gesture that is signature at every Sandals. You’ll find this no matter which Sandals or Beaches you checkin to.

The resort is made up of three villages the French, Italian and Dutch. The best part is that all of the rooms and suites have an ocean view. I mentioned to Sandals Chairman Butch Stewart that the design of the property reminded me of Beaches Turks and Caicos and he said that it was designed by the same architect.

We were treated to lunch at Neptunes Restaurant with General Manager Koen De Rijcke and we had a hard time deciding between the calamari and the grouper so we had both. It’s all inclusive....why not. Neptunes is right on the beach and has a gorgeous view.

I noticed country singer Jimmy Wayne and his wife over at the water sports hut a few feet away. A couple of days later we were on the same flight up to Atlanta. His treasured guitar was in the overhead bin. I’ll bet that Sandals Whitehouse gave him a lot of inspiration for new songs. He and his wife Susan said that they loved their stay and were going to miss their butler. I can’t wait to hear the lyrics to his next new song.

I will talk about butler service at Sandals in a future post. Let me just say that once you have experienced this level of service you’ll wonder how you did without.

After lunch it was back to the helicopter and on to Negril. We buckled up, put our headsets on and off we went. Many, many thanks to Koen and the fantastic staff at Sandals Whitehouse. Can’t wait to come back!
